Are warships being deployed to Venezuela purely to combat drug cartels, or is that mission a pretext for securing control over Venezuelan oil reserves? Another thing to think about is, China’s influence in the Carribean. China has major investments in Jamaica to where the thought is: Is China helping Jamaica out of good faith or are they helping out Jamaica to use that country as a port to park ships at for easier access to the United States instead of deploying their ships from China?
